The Correspondent, designed by Lenny Kravitz is based on the digital Leica MP. The camera and lenses are intentionally aged by hand. Only 125 pieces will be produced. The kit includes two lenses (Leica Summicron-M 35 mm f/2 ASPH and Leica Summilux-M 50 mm f/1.4 ASPH) and a bespoke case. The 50mm Lux lens is based on the classic design from 1959. The price of the kit is $24,500. The set will be sold only in Leica boutiques.
So now we come to the question who is going to buy such a camera? A patina on balck cameras like M3, M2 can be quite nice, but doing it on purpuse? On a digital camera? And then the price: $24,500?
What do you think? Is this a serious aproach? And, is the camera worth it?
